Meet Shanice, Provenance Properties’ OLEA Sales Specialist. Having first joined the team as a university summer student in 2018, Shanice is the youngest sales specialist at PPCI. Shanice displays perseverance and a strong work ethic, having joined the team full time while still pursuing her studies part time in Florida. She commuted weekly between Cayman and Florida, never missing her commitments to work or her studies during that time.

Rather than a deterrent, Shanice considers her youth a source of motivation to continually develop her sales skills and thrive in her role. In this interview, Shanice shares what she loves about the real estate industry and everything you need to know about OLEA at Camana Bay.

Why did you join the real estate industry?

I started working in property management at the age of 20, where I was required to manage multiple properties on my own. This was a large undertaking at such an early point in my career, but I welcomed the challenge. When another property manager was hired, we envisioned expanding the company by selling real estate. This exposed me to the possibility of a greater market and career options. I went on to obtain my real estate license and never looked back!

What do you find the most interesting about the real estate industry?

At the very core of being in real estate lies the challenge and hustle required to thrive in this industry. Being the youngest on a team could be intimidating and challenging, which is true for me sometimes sometimes, but it keeps me motivated to work harder. Working with a team of exceptional, motivated, successful boss women is all I could have hoped for. I feel extremely blessed to be a part of such an awesome team that I know I will be able to learn and grow from.

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

I enjoy the constant variety that comes with this role, whether it be new and upcoming trends, or adapting to understand the various markets that the real estate industry is part of. This versatility allows for my work to never be boring and offers me opportunities I didn’t think I would be exposed to. I am able to meet different people from all over the world, which is an incredibly exciting part of the job. But if I had to pick what I enjoy the most, it’s what I do at the very heart of my job. There is no greater feeling than helping someone find their dream home and being there every step of the way to see it come to fruition.

You are Provenance Properties’ primary sales specialist for OLEA. What makes this development unique and special?

OLEA is the first for-sale residential development in the highly sought-after community of Camana Bay. Imagine living steps away from an array of shops and restaurants, your favourite gym, salon and grocery store - and your workplace? What could be better? Not to mention that Seven Mile Beach is only a 15-minute walk away when you cross over the Rise.

OLEA’s amenities are not only unrivalled, but the sustainability features of this development allow for its residents to save on costs. While there may be many features to love about OLEA, my favourite feature would have to be the outdoor herb garden and yoga green. This to me radiates a lifestyle of bliss and tranquillity.

You have been busy securing long-term rentals for various clients. How do you work with clients to find them the rental property that suits their needs?

Building a relationship with my clients is very important to properly manage their expectations. I ensure I take the time to gain a better understanding of exactly what the client is looking for based on their needs and lifestyle. I then provide them with an array of options and conduct tours to find them the perfect rental home. Although we primarily focus on luxury sales, oftentimes we have clients who move to Cayman and require an intermediary home until they find their perfect dream home. At Provenance Properties, we pride ourselves on being a full-service brokerage and we strive to help our clients every step of the way. Whether it may be from airport pick-ups, finding the perfect bank, recommending restaurants, or all things real estate – we are here to help!

If you had to describe the Cayman Islands in one word, what would it be?

Diversity! Cayman is such an incomparable and extraordinary place to live, with over 135 nationalities that have decided to call our little archipelago of islands their ultimate dream home.

What are some of your favourite Cayman Islands activities?

Some of my favourite activities include horseback rides on the beach, playing tennis and, at the top of my list, boating with friends at Stingray City or Rum Point.

What are your favourite local restaurants?

Cayman has been referred to as the “Culinary Capital of the Caribbean,” so it’s not surprising that I have many favorites! Aside from visiting Jessie’s Juice Bar almost every day for their amazing fresh juices and coffees, I always enjoy Coccoloba or Casa 43 for a night out with the girls. On Sundays, I can’t help but visit Grapetree Café for some good ol’ Cayman-style fish, the perfect way to end your week.

What makes Cayman the ideal place to live?

The people in Cayman make it the ideal place to live. Cayman was once rated as one of the friendliest countries in the world in a feature by Forbes, hence our motto, #Caymankind. The islands are safe and secure. Not only do we have a thriving economy, but also have great infrastructure and are a tax-neutral jurisdiction. The weather is incredible and the views from our balconies are breathtaking! What isn’t there to love?
